Preston North End 0-0 BWFC

17-11-2017                                            MOM: Antonee Robinson

From the 3rd minute, it seemed fairly obvious that this was heading for a goalless draw. That is no criticism of The Trotters, just a well-adjusted gameplan after the lightest of early pressure from the hosts.

The first half-hour of the game entertained very few however, admittedly, it was North End that looked on top. A sense of professionalism then crept into the XI donning purple before playing their own crucial part in the dull stalemate that followed.

However, what I would say is the final 20 minutes really impressed me. Once again, the introduction of attacking players highlighted Parkinson's developed approach whereby 3 points was seen as a possibility and not a luxury we couldn't afford. Antonee Robinson and Adam Armstrong combined well throughout with the substitution of the latter being replaced by Buckley highlighting Armstrong's improvement in the last couple of matches.

Fittingly, this is a very short verdict as (quite bluntly) there was not a lot to write about. A hard-fought, well-earned, cliche, cliche point in a game that was there for the taking against a side now scoreless in their last 3. No wins away since April 2015 in the 2nd tier.

One quick thing that bothered me: the amount of stick and ctirticism levelled at this display aimed at Wanderers was far worse than the comment i made post-Birmingjam and nbot a word from the powers that be.
